Bringing together the event participants with mobile technology

myQaa at EDF's event

EDF, the world's largest producer of eletricity, used myQaa for their sales meetings. People were divided into teams and given an iPad each - 1 member of each team had already been briefed on how to use it. They used myQaa-'s quiz to involve eveyone during the plenary - giving points for the right answers and rewarding the best performing teams. The app powered the workshop sessions too, where it was used to test the employee's knowledge about the new strategy. At the closing session, everyone had the chance to ask questions (anonymously) to the top executives. But, without a doubt, the most successful feature was the Instaphoto: people shared hundreds of picture throughout the day, which really helped to create a sense of belonging. At the end of the event, EDF used myQaa's Event Wall to show an animated collage of all the photos.

Our main objectives were to capture the audience's attention and to introduce the use of new technologies. We realy liked how to different services, like the Instaphoto or the tag cloud, helped to create a sense of community. The participants especially valued the ability to receive messages and notification throughout the event - their satisfaction rate was very good, Besides, it's been a pleasure working with myQaa: the team was always available throughout the planing stage and their presence onsite was extremely helpful. If you're thinking about using an event app, I recommend that you start planning all the content at least 2 or 3 months in advance - good preparation is the key of success.
